Right-arm fast bowler Sherman Lewis has replaced injured Alzarri Joseph in the 15-man West Indies squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against India that will begin on October 4 in Rajkot.

According to Cricbuzz, Joseph, who suffered a stress fracture last November, underwent medical examinations following which the Cricket West Indies’s medical team recommended that he should continue his rehabilitation to full fitness for international competitions.

Lewis made his first-class debut for Windward Islands in March last year. He announced his arrival in his debut season where he claimed 30 wickets at an average of 21.66 in the regional four-day Championship. Lewis was then selected for the Windies A squad that toured England. During the first unofficial Test against India A, he picked four-fers in both innings to help his side to a draw.
