New Delhi, Feb.8 (ANI): Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan recently married Jeddah-based model Safa Baig in a secret ceremony in Mecca. The 21-year-old model, who is currently working for a PR firm, is also a popular nail artist. Confirming the news, Irfan posted a picture of him along with wife Safa on Twitter and wrote, “Entering probably the most beautiful phase of my life. We both wish to thank everyone for your wishes & #blessings.”
According to the reports, Irfan and Baig met two years back in Dubai and recently got engaged with their families blessings. Recently, cricketers Varun Aaron, Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina also tied a knot, while Yuvraj Singh, Mohit Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja got engaged.
There were no big celebrations for the marriage. Only family members of the couple were present during the ‘nikaah’. A dinner party was organised by the Pathan family at a on Thursday night.
A source was quoted in Times of India saying, “”Irfan and Safa met in Dubai about two years ago and later came close. Safa even visited Vadodara to meet Irfan’s family. The duo got engaged about three months ago following which the wedding date was fixed.”
