With India eyeing their 75th Test victory on home soil in the second Test against West Indies, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men have plans to donate their kits to the upcoming museum of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).
“The Indians are in line of their 75th Test win at home. It will mark a significant occasion. The team members have agreed to give their kits to be displayed at the museum coming up next year,” a CAB official said.
During the ongoing second Test, the CAB had put out a collection of 22 photographs at the entrance of the Eden Gardens to depict the story of the stadium since 1926, when an MCC team had toured Kolkata.
The photographs will also be put up in the upcoming cricket museum at the historic Eden Gardens.
Among the notable photograph is that of former India captain Nari Contractor. There are a few photos whose memories are still fresh – the 1987 World Cup final that Allan Border’s Australia won, the 1993 Hero Cup final in which Anil Kumble bowled his magical spell.
And not to forget, the 2001 Australia Test made memorable by VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid’s super human knocks, also finds a place. (PTI)
