Basil Thampi of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) received the worst hammering in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL), against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Thampi took nought for 70 in 4 overs, going for 17.50 an over. One must remember here that Thampi won the Emerging Cricketer of the Year Award in 2017. Thampi broke the ‘record’ of Ishant Sharma, who had figures of 4-0-66-0, also for SRH, against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2013 at Uppal, Hyderabad. – For SRH. As mentioned, Ishant held the previous record of 4-0-66-0.
– Against RCB. Umesh held the previous record of 4-0-65-0, for Delhi Daredevils at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi in 2013.
– At Chinnaswamy. Shane Watson held the previous record of 4-0-61-0, for RCB against SRH in 2016.
– Of this season. Umesh held the previous record of 4-0-59-0, for RCB against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Chinnaswamy.

1. The most expensive figures by a bowler taking a wicket are 4-0-65-1 by Sandeep, for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) against SRH at Uppal in 2014.
2. The most expensive figures by a bowler taking 2 wickets are 4-0-63-2 by Varun Aaron, for DD against CSK at Chepauk, Chennai.
