Faf du Plessis pulled off a remarkable heist as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) turned the tables around to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 1 of VIVO IPL 2018 and proceed to the summit clash. Du Plessis added 23 in 9 balls for the ninth wicket with Shardul Thakur (who remained unbeaten on a 5-ball 15) to see CSK through. This will be the seventh time CSK will play an IPL final in their ninth appearance overall. In pursuit of a modest 140, CSK were down and out needing 90 off 60 balls. They lost wickets at crucial junctures, but escaped out of jail courtesy Faf’s brilliant stroke making in the end. He timed his innings to perfection to set up CSK’s final date with awaited winner of Qualifier 2 (to be played on Friday).
