Rajasthan have replaced Zahir Khan with New Zealand’s Ish Sodhi for the remaining of Indian T20 League 2018. Sodhi remained unsold in the player auction in January at Bangalore. Sodhi has played T20 cricket for Adelaide Strikers and Northern Districts as well.
Zahir is a leg-spinner from Afghanistan, who was picked by Rajasthan franchise for INR 50 lakhs after stiff competition from Mumbai. Zahir has played for Afghanistan in the recently concluded ICC Under-19 World Cup 2018. Sodhi has played 15 Tests, 22 ODIs and 26 T20Is for New Zealand. This will be his maiden Indian T20 League 2018 appearance.
Sodhi was New Zealand’s trump card during their ICC T20 World Cup in India 2016. He was instrumental in New Zealand beating India at Nagpur, claiming 3 for 18.
