Cricket Australia XI were bowled out for 243 against the Indians on Day One of the second Tour match at Adelaide. Jordan Silk scored 58, while Sebastian Gotch made 58 not out, but none of the other batsmen could contribute substantially to the final total.

Karn Sharma, who was expensive all day, soon picked up his first wicket as he had Alex Keath caught by Cheteshwar Pujara for a well-made 19. That brought Sebastian Gotch and Jake Doran together. The pair buckled down and batted well to deny the Indian bowlers any wickets for a period of around 12 overs. However, they were unable to score too many runs either.

Karn soon had Doran out caught by Virat Kohli for a well-made 25 off 42 balls. New batsman Evan Gulbis did not last very long, and was bowled by Aaron for just one, as the Indians went for the kill. Josh Lalor walked out to join Gotch, and batted positively for his 31-ball 21. He was dismissed caught by Shami while trying to go down the ground off Ravindra Jadeja.

The Indians soon bowled out CA XI for 243 with Aaron and Karn finishing up proceedings to end with four and three wickets respectively. Gotch scored a good 58 not out, but found little support from the tail as Indians had just over a session to bat on Day One.
