Binny then hits a four and six off consecutive deliveries in the 87th over bowled by Wainwright. The next three overs are a little tame as only one four is scored. That four was struck by Binny in the 91st over bowled by Cotton. India have taken the lead over Derbyshire. The Indians have declared their score at 341 for six as stumps have been called for. It has been a good last few overs for the Indians. Binny has struck a string of fours to power India’s score over 300. He has also got to his half-century. Binny then hits a six off Alex Hughes in the 86th over. Rahane is happy to play second fiddle.

Jadeja keeps up the scoring with a four off Chesney Hughes in the 77th over. Binny then gits a four in the 79th over bowled by Wainwright . But Wainwright gets the breakthrough as he dismissed Jadeja for 45. Jadeja gives a catch to Mark Turner. He struck seven fours and one six. Ajinkya Rahane has finally come out to bat for the Indians.

Binny and Jadeja hit a four each in the 69th over bowled by Durston. But Higginbottom bowls a maiden to Binny the very next over. After playing his way in, Binny lets loose against Alex Hughes by hitting two fours in the 72nd over. Jadeja and Binny exchange couple of fours. Jadeja then hits a six off Chesney Hughes in the 75th over.

The first over after tea results in five runs but without a boundary being scored. The next over is a maiden. Jadeja then hits a four off right-arm off-spinner Wes Durston in the 65th over. Matt Higginbottom then bowls a maiden to Binny.

Jadeja hits a four off Cork in the 60th over. The 61st over only results in a single taken by Jadeja. The 62nd over is a maiden and that is tea on Day Two. Indians trail by 109 runs.

Either Pujara or Dhoni has been finding the boundary every over from the 49th to 53rd. But then Dhoni is bowled by Wainwright in the 56th over. He has to depart for 46 off 56 deliveries. He struck four fours and one six. Two deliveries later, Pujara decided to retire out on 81 off 133 deliveries. He hit 13 fours in his innings. Ravindra Jadeja and Stuart Binny are batting in the middle. Jadeja has struck two fours.

Despite losing Kohli, Pujara keeps the scoreboard ticking with a couple of fours in the next few overs. He hen lays into Cotton by hitting three fours in the 40th over. MS Dhoni also gets amongst the boundaries. Pujara gets to his half-century with a four in the 44th over. Dhoni then hits a six off Wainwright in the 47th over. India get to their 150 in the 48th over.

Pujara and Kohli get involved in a 63-run partnership for the fourth wicket. One would say that these are the two batsmen who are essential for India to succeed in their tour of England. Both the batsmen hit a few fours early on in their partnership, but then they are tied down for a bit. The last ball of the 18th over is hit for a four by Kohli. Then the next four comes on the fifth ball of the 30th over. In the 34th over, right-arm medium-fast bowler Ben Cotton bowls Kohli for 36 runs. Kohli struck five fours in his innings.

Indian openers have been dismissed early. They were finding it difficult to time the ball and ended up giving away their wickets to the Derbyshire pacers. It’s time for Cheteshwar Pujara and the run machine Virat Kohli to steady this Indian ship.
