India’s Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj praises Afghanistan cricket for attaining Test status

Afghanistan along with Ireland in June became the 11th and 12th Test playing nation.

Ever since the BJP came into rule, Sushma Swaraj has garnered worldwide fame for her generosity and humbleness. India’s Minister of External Affairs, Sushma has a keen eye on worldly affair apart from managing government duties. Currently in the USA for a United Nations meeting, Sushma met Afghanistan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani. In the meeting Sushma congratulated him for their cricket team attaining Test status by International Cricket Council (ICC) earlier this year.

According to a report in gearsofbiz, Sushma said, “The fact that Afghanistan attained status of test playing nation is testament to the indomitable spirit of the people of Afghanistan to not let the forces of death and destruction prevail.”

Afghanistan along with Ireland in June became the 11th and 12th Test playing nation. The last nation to receive full member status were Bangladesh that too more than 20 years ago. Earlier, it was reported that Afghanistan will be playing their first Test by the end of this year, with the names of Zimbabwe and Ireland cropping up as prospect opponents.
