Ryan Harris and Ryan McLaren got down to repairing the Punjab innings in a hopeless case pushing the visitors to 89 for 7 in 15 overs.

Ryan Harris and Ryan McLaren got down to repairing the Punjab innings in a hopeless case pushing the visitors to 89 for 7 in 15 overs.
Harris and McLaren smashed a boundary each in Zaheer Khan’s over. Piyush Chawla tired to take on the Bangalore bowler only to lose his wicket to Chris Gayle.
Chris Gayle took his second wicket to dismiss Dinesh Karthik for 20 as Punjab reached 62 for six at the end of the 10th over.
Karthik’s wicket came about after Daniel Vettori got rid of Sunny Singh.
Earlier, Punjab lost quick wickets of Shaun Marsh, Paul Valthaty and Adam Gilchrist to the very first ball of their innings. Gilchrist pushed the ball to mid on and tried to take a quick single only to fall short of the crease to a brilliant direct hit by Asad Pathan.
Abhishek Nayar’s promotion up the order back fired and he departed without adding much to the scorecard.
