Chennai Super Kings restricted Deccan Chargers to 146 for right from their 20 allotted overs, registering a 19 run victory in their Indian Premier League match. Sunny Sohal s brilliant innings of 56 off 31 balls went in vain.

Chennai Super Kings fought back with two quick wickets to reduce Deccan Chargers to 122 for four at the end of 16 overs. Kumar Sangakkara was bowled by Doug Bollinger, while Albie Morkel dismissed Bharat Chipli. This was after Deccan suffered second blow when Shikhar Dhawan was bowled by Shadab Jakati for 19.

Sunny Sohal smashed 56 off just 31 balls to provide Deccan Chargers a rollicking start. Sohal slammed Doug Bollinger for a four and a six in the second over of the innings to set the tone, and then hit Albie Morkel for three boundaries and a six.

The right-handed Deccan opener brought up a well-made half century in just 25 balls, and was dismissed on 56 studded with six boundaries and four sixes. Shikhar Dhawan is batting on 11 at the other end.

Earlier, Suresh Raina smashed 59 off 35 balls and some late burst by Albie Morkel helped Chennai Super Kings set a 166 run target for Deccan Chargers to win. Morkel hit three consecutive sixes off Ishant Sharma, and was runout for 19 off six balls. Skipper MS Dhoni scored 21 off 21 balls.

Michael Hussey missed on a half-century when he was dismissed for 46 off 41 balls by Harmeet Singh. He added 60 runs for the second wicket with Raina.
