Kolkata registered a comfortable nine-wicket victory over Rajasthan in their Indian Premier League match at Jaipur. Jacques Kallis and Gautam Gambhir added 149 runs for the second wicket which sealed their win. Kallis remained unbeaten at 80, while Gambhir scored 75 not out.
Both showed aggressive intent and played strokes on both sides of the wicket. Gambhir’s breezy half-century came in no time, but was lucky to survive a few close calls.
Kallis dropped anchor from the other end, and is batting on 54 off 49 balls with the help of four boundaries and a six. Kolkata lost Manvinder Bisla in the second over for 1.
Earlier, Rajasthan set Kolkata a 160–run victory target. Ross Taylor remained unbeaten at 35.
