The love of Kolkata fans for their ‘Dada’ Sourav Ganguly that they showed by playing ‘Ekla Cholo Re’ during the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Pune Warriors touched Amitbah Bachchan.
The 69-year-old actor had lent his trademark baritone for famed Rabindrasangeet ‘Ekla Chalo Re’ for the film “Kahaani”.
Ganguly played against Kolkata Knight Riders, his former team, for the first time at Eden Garden. Incidentally, it was also the first time in his cricketing career that Ganguly used the visitor’s dressing room at Eden Garden.
“In the IPL at Eden garden in Kolkata… divisive emotions .. Ganguly playing in his city for another team PWI. They tell me when Sourav got out and walked back, they played ‘Ekla Chalo re’ from Kahani, and the entire stadium joined in and sang.
