In a rare sight on Indian grounds, a spectator invaded the pitch and managed to throw some papers around the players during the Indian Premier League match between Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders at the PCA stadium on Wednesday.
The intruder managed to hang around for some time near the pitch while the security men ran towards him before he was taken off eventually.
The incident occurred when Kings XI all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas was gearing up to bowl the 16th over of the KKR innings with skipper Gautam Gambhir and Jacques Kallis in the middle.
As Mascarenhas was about to start his run-up, a spectator ran towards the pitch from the pavilion end and threw some papers on Kallis first and then near Gambhir, who was on strike.
The intruder was wearing block trouser and a white shirt.
Later, he was whisked away by the private security staff.
