Kolkata Knight Riders are looking to generate more revenue and add to their visibility with acquisitions in various sports like soccer, car racing or hockey within the country as well as abroad.

Shah Rukh Khan owned Kolkata Knight Riders are looking to generate more revenue and add to their visibility with acquisitions in various sports like soccer, car racing or hockey within the country as well as abroad.
“We are keen on acquisitions in other sports,” Venky Mysore, company CEO and MD, was quoted telling to Business Line. Acquisitions will be through the parent company, Knight Riders Sports Pvt. Ltd.
Talks are on with various franchises. However, nothing has materialized so far. This is done to ensure greater visibility and higher revenue generation for KKR brand.
“IPL has already proven the success of franchise-run sports format. And through KKR we have built a reputable brand which can be used across other sports,” he said.
KKR so far has 22 sponsorship tie-ups, the highest by any IPL franchisee.

“The rebranding has been done keeping in mind the idea of a mother brand,” Mysore added.
