Mumbai Indians (MI) ihave to chase a target of 169 set by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the PCA stadium, Mohali.
After winning the toss, Punjab skipper David Hussey had chose to bat against a wounded Mumbai Indians looking to set it’s campaign back on track. Punjab began on a decent note, with their young openers Mandeep Singh and Nitin Saini putting on 35 in five overs. RP Singh got the first breakthrough by removing Mandeep Singh.
When they come down to chase this target, Mumbai will hope to avoid unnecessary hara-kiri unlike last match when Franklin-Karthik run-out proved to be a crucial advantage for Punjab when they were chasing.
With Master-Blaster Sachin Tendulkar at one end, players like James Franklin and Rohit Sharma will look nto score freely. A win here will take Mumbai at par with other teams on the top at 8 points, while a loss would further dent their confidence and make it further difficult to claw their way back into the tournament.
Brief Score: KXIP 168 for 3 in 20 overs (David Hussey 68, David Miller 34; Clint McKay 1 for 36, RP Singh 1 for 27) vs MI
