Deccan Chargers (DC) struggled to a modest score of 100 against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.
Deccan, after put into bat on a lively pitch, got off to a cautious start as openers Parthiv Patel and Shikhar Dhawan looked to negotiate the Mumbai pacers.
Mumbai got the first breakthrough when RP Singh had Parthiv caught by Munaf Patel, just when the left-hander started to look dangerous.
Harbhajan Singh then struck immediately to send back Ishank Jaggi for two.
Skipper Cameron White followed Jaggi, immediately after Lasith Malinga had him caught by RP Singh for naught.
James Franklin got into the act as he claimed the wicket of Dan Christian and Bharat Chipli in the same over.
JP Duminy held the fort at one end as Deccan kept losing wickets at the other end.
The visitors never looked in the fray as they struggled against the Mumbai pacers.
Brief Scores: DC 100 in 18.4 overs (Shikhar Dhawan 29, JP Duminy 25; Lasith Malinga 4 for 16) vs MI
