Pune Warriors India (PWI) need 178 after a sensible batting by Deccan Chargers’ Cameron White, who sealed his first half-century of this season of Indian Premier League (IPL).

White hit five and six fours as he scored 78 off 46 balls. Along with JP Duminy, White put up a partnership of 75 runs for the fourth wicket.

Deccan lost both openers inside 6 overs.

Shikhar Dhawan, who has been on top form compared to other Deccan batsmen, scored 16 before getting run-out.

Skipper Kumar Sangakkara was dismissed by Rahul Sharma to reduce Deccan to 83 for 3.

Sangakkara won the toss and had decided to bat against Pune Warriors on Thursday.

Deccan made few changes in the squad, bringing in Juan Theron in place of Dale Steyn, and Manpreet Gony and Ashish Reddy instead of Veer Pratap Singh and Anand Rajan respectively.

Brief Score: DC 177 for 4 in 20 overs (Cameron White 78, JP Duminy 26; Rahul Sharma 1 for 39, B Kumar 1 for 33) vs PWI
