Rajasthan Royals (RR) reached a score of 162 runs for the loss of six wickets against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 72nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 at Jaipur.
Opting to bat first, Rajasthan lost Rahul Dravid in the second over for just five runs. Dhawal Kulkarni scalped Rajasthan skipper’s wicket. He followed it with the prized wicket of Ajinkya Rahane, who managed to score just 13 runs.
Shane Watson and Stuart Binny stitched a healthy 53-run partnership to help Rajasthan consolidate the innings.
Binny was run out by Kieron Pollard after scoring impressive 30 runs off 17 balls. Watson eventually was dismissed in the 14th over for 45 runs.
Ashok Menaria and Owais Shah built a 43-run partnership for the fifth wicket in the death overs which took the home team to a respectable total.
Menaria was dismissed for 21 runs by Dhawal Kulkarni, who was the stand-out bowler for the visitors with three wickets conceding just 18 runs.
