Rajasthan Royals suffered a batting collapse as they were restricted to 141 for six by Delhi Daredevils in their IPL 2012 match at Jaipur on Tuesday.
Royals slipped to 71 for no loss to 95 for five, as Delhi gained upperhand at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in the Pink City.
Coming off from a fine knock of 84 not out in the previous game, Rahane showed aggressive intent right from the word go.
Rahane lathered three boundaries in the third over of Irfan Pathan and Dravid creamed one through the covers to set the tone for the Royals.
Rahane and Dravid punished Delhi bowlers once again as they brought up 56 runs from the first six overs to set an ideal platform for their side to set big score.
The Rajasthan openers scored at a brisk rate and added 71 runs for the opening wicket stand which was broken by Negi in the ninth over.
Negi then ran through a solid batting order of the Royals, prizing out the key wickets of Shane Watson, Brad Hodge, Ashok Menaria and Rahane.
Brief Scores: RR 141 for 6 from 20 overs (Rahul Dravid 57, Ajinkya Rahane 42; Pawan Negi 4 for 18) vs DD
