“I got a victory for South Africa against India (in Nagpur) during last year s World Cup. It was the only game India lost in the competition, so I am pretty proud of my achievement,” he said.
Punjab captain Adam Gilchrist, too spoke in defence of the leg-spinner.
“A leg- spinner on small grounds is bound to get hit for a few sixes. Piyush has bowled wonderfully for us so far and today also, his first three overs were very good. It is just a matter of those six balls.
“He has a good record in the tournament and I told him he needs to look ahead,” he said.
