Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday praised Mumbai Indians batsmen Rohit Sharma, Ambati Rayudu and Robin Peterson on the twitter, after Mumbai Indians (MI) snatched victory from the jaws of defeat during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Wednesday.
Rayudu and Peterson scored 27 runs off the 19th over bowled by Piyush Chawla, to help Mumbai to a four-wicket win.
Tendulkar tweeted: “What an unbelievable batting by Rohit,Rayudu and Robin to help MI win yesterdays match. Way to go MI!!!,”(sic).
The 39-year-old said the penultimate over was the most exciting over he has ever seen.
“The 19th over changed everything for us. It is definitely one of the most exciting overs I have seen in my life(sic),” the master-blaster tweeted.
Chasing a winnings target of 169 runs, Mumbai needed 32 runs in the last overs to win the match. Punjab brought in Chawla, who holds the record of conceding maximum sixes in the IPL.
The Mumbai opener praised Rayudu for keeping his cool in a nervy finish.
“Some extraordinary innovative hitting by Robin n unbelievably strong finish by Rayudu,” he tweeted.
