Pune Warriors batsman Steven Smith received an official warning and reprimand for breaching the Indian Premier League (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.
Smith admitted the Level 1 offence (Article 2.1.3) of showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during the ninth over of the Pune Warriors’ innings.
For Level 1 breaches of the IPL Code of Conduct, the match referee’s decision is final and binding.
Pune Warriors lost to KKR by seven runs to slump to their fifth straight defeat in the tournament. (PTI)
