IPL 2013 betting controversy: Vikram Aggarwal’s bail plea adjourned by Madras High Court

Madras High Court adjourned till Thursday, the hearing on the anticipatory bail application and an interim anticipatory bail plea filed by city-based hotelier Vikram Aggarwal, summoned by Mumbai Police in connection with the Indian Premier League (IPL) betting case.

Chennai: May 29, 2013

Madras High Court adjourned till Thursday, the hearing on the anticipatory bail application and an interim anticipatory bail plea filed by city-based hotelier Vikram Aggarwal who was summoned by Mumbai Police in connection with the Indian Premier League (IPL) betting case.

When the matter came up for hearing on Wednesday, Justice CT Selvam adjourned hearing on both the applications till Thursday.

Aggarwal had filed an antipatory bail application, saying though he was sent a communication under Section 160 of the CrPC by Tamil Nadu’s CB-CID on May 23 that he needed to appear before them on May 30 as a witness in a case, he was taken for interrogation on May 27 and was let out only last night.

He filed another interim anticipatory bail application saying Mumbai Police had summoned him, in connection with a case. He said he intended to seek anticipatory bail before a Mumbai court in a few days and sought an interim anticipatory bail.
