Delhi Daredevils‘ dismal form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has not deterred their fans, who turned up at Feroz Shah Kotla in plenty to watch their team take on the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) here Thursday.
Delhi are yet to win in this season’s IPL, having lost six consecutive matches (after the loss against CSK), but that is not an issue for fans. Long queues were seen outside the 45,000 capacity stadium with a lot of supporters donning their favourite player’s jersey: Virender Sehwag.
“It is my second match here and I want to see the team win. Winning or losing is part of the game. We have come to support our team and have fun,” 11-year-old Adharv Pandey told IANS.
He was accompanied by his father Amit, who said: “We should not look at the rivalry part in IPL. I cheer for good cricket rather than teams. There are no countries involved here.”
Amongst the red and blue wave, some of them were spotted wearing yellow CSK jerseys.
