KKR 163/7 | Over 19 | D Das 8*, L Balaji 2* OUT! R Bhatia 10(9)

Angelo Mathews bowls the last over. Bhatia gets a four, but is run-out off the next ball. Mathews cliches it for Pune. They have finally won a game at the IPL. Celebrations in their camp. Pathan is disconsolate and is livid. That is it from us for now. Do follow our updates for the cracker that follows – Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals. The defending champions have been eliminated.

Pune win by seven runs.

KKR 153/6 | Over 19 | D Das 7*, R Bhatia 3*

Fantastic over by Bhuvneshwar Kumar at this stage. He concedes only four and Kolkata now need 18 off the last over to win.

KKR 149/6 | Over 18 | D Das 5*, R Bhatia 0* OUT!! Y Pathan 72(44)

Pathan is the man! He hits a four through covers and then follows it up with a huge six over square-leg. A top edge then runs away to fine-leg for another four. Parnell taking a beating now. There is drama here! Pathan tries to go for a single, but as Parnell approached the ball, Pathan deliberately kicked it. The third umpire was called for and he judges him out. He is out obstructing the field. What a big Moment in the game!

KKR 134/5 | Over 17 | Y Pathan 58*, D Das 5*  OUT! M Tiwary 0(1)

Manoj Tiwary is now dismissed as he holes out to long-on. Pathan had miscued one earlier in the over, but it fell in no man’s land. Das gets off the mark with a guided drive through point for four. Things are getting tighter here. Kolkata need 37 off the last three overs. Pathan crucial here.

KKR 127/4 | Over 16 | Y Pathan 56*, M Tiwary 0* OUT! ten Doeschate 42(30)

Finch introduces his eight bowler in the innings. Gomez to bowl his gentle medium pacers. Pathan changes his bat and hits a four through fine-leg. It was a poor ball, a full-toss down the leg-side. However, ten Doeschate is run-out as Pathan’s late call sends him back.

KKR 122/3 | Over 15 | ten Doeschate 42*, Y Pathan 51*

Pathan gets to his half-century. A good performance under pressure, but his job is far from over. Ten Doeschate gets an edge to third-man for four. In the last five overs, Kolkata need 49 to clinch victory.

KKR 114/3 | Over 14 | ten Doeschate 36*, Y Pathan 49*

Finch gets back his trump-card Parnell. With the mid-off in the circle, Pathan takes the aeriel route and gets four. He then gets another four with a straighter hoick. Kolkata need 57 off 36 balls.

KKR 105/3 | Over 13 | ten Doeschate 35*, Y Pathan 41*

Kolkata’s hundred comes up in fine style as ten Doeschate bludgeones a straight drive for four off Murtuza.

KKR 96/3 | Over 12 | ten Doeschate 28*, Y Pathan 39*

Wright to bowls his medium pacers. He is unlucky as ten Doeschate inside edges one and it misses the stumps. Pathan had a leg injury in the last over, but that doesn’t stop him. He carts a massive six over mid-wicket.

KKR 85/3 | Over 11 | ten Doeschate 24*, Y Pathan 32*

Kevin Pietersen’s “pie chucker” comes to bowl. Poor work by Pune there as they concede four over throws — six in total off that delivery. The batsmen ran for two and were handed a bonus of four more.

KKR 74/3 | Over 10 | ten Doeschate 22*, Y Pathan 23*

Ten Doeschate hits his first six. Murtuza is carted over mid-wicket into the stands. With 10 overs to go, Kolkata need 97. These two are going along well.

KKR 66/3 | Over 9 | ten Doeschate 15*, Y Pathan 22*

Mathews pitches one short, but Pathan pulls it for a four. Ten Doeschate walks across his stumps and flicks it to fine-leg for four more. Another good over for Kolkata as 12 come off it.

KKR 54/3 | Over 8 | ten Doeschate 9*, Y Pathan 16*

Ryan ten Doeschate gets a four through wide long-off. A fantastic shot as he charged to Ali Murtuza and got to the pitch of the ball

KKR 45/3 | Over 7 | ten Doeschate 2*, Y Pathan 14*

Pathan smashes two fours in the over. The second one is the best as he used all his power to loft it over the bowler for four.

KKR 33/3 | Over 6 | ten Doeschate 1*, Y Pathan 3*

Angelo Mathews puts more pressure on Kolkata. Only three came off the over. The required rate is touching 10 an over.

KKR 30/3 | Over 5 | ten Doeschate 0*, Y Pathan 1* OUT! G Gambhir 12(17)

Ishwar Pandey comes in to bowl and is greeted with a four through fine-leg by Gambhir. However, the Kolkata captain falls as he top edges a pull and Yuvraj takes an easy catch at mid-off.

KKR 25/2 | Over 4 | G Gambhir 8*, Y Pathan 0* OUT! J Kallis 1(7)

Parnell continues his good work.  Bowls Kallis with a fantastic Yorker that disturbs the off-stump. Pune are feeling good here.

KKR 24/1 | Over 3 | G Gambhir 7*, J Kallis 1*

Good over by Bhuvneshwar. Only five off it, which includes three leg-byes.

KKR 19/1 | Over 2 | G Gambhir 5*, J Kallis 1* OUT! M Bisla lbw b Parnell 1 (4)

It is now Parnell’s chance to stray for five wides. He bowls it down the leg-side and Uthappa only gets a hand to it, but it crosses the boundary. However, he traps Bisla plumb in-front with one that pitched in line and came in. Kolkata lose their first wicket.

KKR 10/0 | Over 1 | G Gambhir 3*, M Bisla 1*

The wily Bhuvneshwar starts proceedings for Pune. With Uthappa standing up to the stumps, he bowls it too wide outside the off-stump and it goes for five wides. Not the ideal start for Pune.

Pune Warriors India have done well to get to 170 on this wicket. Uthappa started very well and then Finch took the attack in the middle-overs. However, M Pandey was splendid and that has helped Pune score this total. Not to forget Yuvraj, who has done well in the slog overs. For Kolkata, their spinners were outstanding.

Join us in a few minutes for Kolkata’s run-chase.

PWI 170/4 | Overs 20 | Luke Wright 0* OUT! Pandey run out Kallis 66(47) OUT! Yuvraj c ten Doeschate b Kallis 30(20)

M Pandey has played beautifully today and finishes it off in style. He guides one through third-man with deft touch for a four and then moves across his stumps to turn the ball on the leg-side for a second boundary. In an attempt to run a bye, he gets run-out at the non-striker’s end. Yuvraj then sends one over long-off for a six. He then holes out to mid-wicket off the last ball of the innings

PWI 154/2 | Overs 19 | M Pandey 58*, Yuvraj 22*

Final throw of the dice for Narine. M Pandey edges one fine towards third-man for a four. Yuvraj gets away as he top edges a sweep and it lands in no man’s land.

PWI 143/2 | Overs 18 | M Pandey 52*, Yuvraj 17*

M Pandey gets a four through the covers with a well-controlled lofted shot. He then got to his fifty with an upper cut for four. Yuvraj then carts a length delivery through wide long-on for a maximum. They have scored 18 runs off that over. It isn’t Balaji’s best day is it?

PWI 125/2 | Overs 17 | M Pandey 41*, Yuvraj 10*

Yuvraj gets things going with a trademark slog-sweep for six. Narine bowls a decent over otherwise, but the six helps things for Pune.

PWI 116/2 | Overs 16 | M Pandey 40*, Yuvraj 2*

Yuvraj finally gets off the mark with a single through mid-wicket. Bhatia doesn’t concede too many as Pune only manage to score four runs.

PWI 112/2 | Overs 15 | M Pandey 38*, Yuvraj 0*

Pune’s hundred comes up as M Pandey guides Kallis through point for four. He then moves across the stumps and lofts him over fine-leg for another boundary. Kallis pitches it short outside the off and Pandey cuts him for a third consecutive four. Umpires call for the strategic time-out.

PWI 98/2 | Overs 14 | M Pandey 25*, Yuvraj 0*

With a new batsman in, Narine is into the attack to bowl his wily off-spinners. He keeps Yuvraj quiet and concedes only a single in that over

PWI 97/2 | Overs 13 | M Pandey 24*, Yuvraj 0* OUT! Finch b Balaji 48(32)

Balaji has his redemption as he gets through Finch. The Pune captain tries a wild heave, but misses only to see his off-stump taking a cart-wheel.

PWI 94/1 | Overs 12 | Finch 47*, M Pandey 22*

Senanayake comes back as Kolkata want to hold things back after a few expensive overs. He brings some sanity to the proceedings.

PWI 89/1 | Overs 11 | Finch 45*, M Pandey 19*

Finch is getting stuck into the Kolkata bowlers. He lofts Bhatia over long-on for a huge six. M Pandey joins the party here with a six over mid-wicket. Pune are rebuilding well here.

PWI 72/1 | Overs 10 | Finch 36*, M Pandey 11*

Kolkata are keeping the Pune batsmen guessing. Kallis returns to bowl and pretty dramatic over at that. Finch heaves at one, but misses. The ball kisses the off-stump without disturbing the bails. Finch has a stroke of luck there and capitalises on it by smashing two sixes over wide long-on. Will this help Pune regain momentum.

PWI 57/1 | Overs 9 | Finch 23*, M Pandey 9*

Gambhir is shuffling his bowlers as ten Doeschate is introduced. Pune seem content in rotating the strike as they score seven off the over. It is the strategic time-out.

PWI 50/1 | Overs 8 | Finch 21*, M Pandey 4*
Gambhir will now save his mystery spinners for later as Rajat Bhatia comes to bowl. Pune have slowed down after a good start. Pune’s fifty comes up as Finch guides it through the covers for a brace.

PWI 45/1 | Overs 7 | Finch 17*, M Pandey 3*

Kallis comes into the attack and keeps things quiet. Only three runs from that over.

PWI 42/1 | Overs 6 | Finch 16*, M Pandey 1* OUT! Uthappa 25 (21)

Uthappa returns to the pavillion after a decent start. He went back to Senanayake and edged the ball on to the stumps. The powerplays are done and dusted. Gambhir is happy to play his spinners as they have limited the damage.

PWI 39/0 | Overs 5 | Uthappa 24*, Finch 15*

Kolkata introduce their trump-card — Sunil Narine. He troubles Uthappa a little bit. Bisla took the bails off on one occasion, but replays confirmed that Uthappa was in.

PWI 34/0 | Overs 4 | Uthappa 23*, Finch 11*

Good over by Senanayake after an expensive one by Balaji. Only four runs off that one.

PWI 30/0 | Overs 3 | Uthappa 21*, Finch 9*

We have the first six of the game as Uthappa carts Balaji over mid-wicket. That sailed over the ropes. He then charges down the wicket and heaves another six over the same spot. Pune have a good start yet again.

PWI 16/0 | Overs 2 | Uthappa 8*, Finch 8*

Senanayake is introduced into the attack. Finch smashes the him down the ground for four after making some room. He makes room again and gets three more. Pune’s openers have looked good during this tournament.

PWI 6/0 | Overs 1 | Uthappa 6*, Finch 0*

Uthappa gets off to a good start with a cracking cover-drive for four off Balaji. That sets the ball rolling for Pune at Ranchi. The stadium is half-empty today.
