New Delhi: Jun 7, 2013

A Delhi court on Friday will hear a fresh bail application moved by S Sreesanth. His lawyer moved for fresh bail after the Delhi police invoked Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against the cricketer on Tuesday.

Sreesanth and his counsel, who had applied for a bail before, withdrew the earlier plea as it was considered to be infractuous by the court, reports NDTV.

Sreesanth and his Rajasthan Royals teammates Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were arrested on May 16 for their alleged role in the Indian Premier League 2013 spot-fixing controversy.

All three face charges under the MCOCA, which is usually used against organised crime syndicates. Along with them the others accused, are in judicial custody till June 18.
