Kings XI Punjab are off to a steady start in the IPL 2014 final against Kolkata Knight RIders at Bangalore. In two overs, Punjab are 15 for no loss. Virender Sehwag and Manan Vohra are batting.
Morne Morkel opened the bowling for Kolkata and Sehwag was hit on the pads first up and they took a single. Vohra then played very well and nudged his way to a few runs through the leg-side. But then, Vohra edged one and it went fine for a four through third-man. The slip was in place but it went quite wide from him. In the first over Punjab were eight for no loss.
Umesh Yadav came in and bowled one outside off to Sehwag first up. But, Sehwag missed. The second ball was driven by him down the ground, but for no runs. Yadav then bowled a good short ball to keep Sehwag back. Sehwag then edged one to third-man for a single to get off the mark. Later in the over, he smashed a four down the ground for a four.
Earlier, Kolkata won the toss and chose to bowl first on what looks like a very good batting track at Bangalore. Kolkata played an unchanged side for this contest. Punjab made one change as Lakshmipathy Balaji came in place of Sandeep Sharma.
