India uncapped fast-bowler Nathu Singh has been sold to the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction in Bengaluru on Saturday. Nathu has been a sensational fast-bowler of late in the domestoc cricuit, and has also represented the U-19 team in the ICC U-19 World Cup a couple of years back. His ability to take out crucial wickets in the crucial phase of the match makes him a hot buy, as he fetches Rs. 3.2 crores from MI. The season has a couple of surprises as a couple of the oldest franchise in the league in the form of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been suspended, leading to the entry of a couple of new teams in the form of Rising Pune Superkings (RPS) and Gujarat Lions (GL). Mumbai Indians are one of the most popular teams in IPL. They have retained an excellent set of players, but they also released some impressive names. Cricketers like Pragyan Ojha, Alex Hales, Colin Munro, Aaron Finch, Josh Hazlewood, Aiden Blizzard, Ben Hilfenhaus, Abhimanyu Mithun, Aditya Tare, and Pawan Suyal have been let go of by the Mumbai Indians, despite the fact that both Finch and Hales have at some point been ranked No. 1 in terms of T20I batting. Their pace bowling too has been a bit weakened by the releasing of Hazlewood and Hilfenhaus, both of whom are disciplined pace bowlers.
