Mumbai Indians were rocked by an injury to Lasith Malinga coming into this tournament. But they suffered even more agony as Lendl Simmons has been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament. His replacement Martin Guptill will be expected to slot straight into the starting XI, on the expense of international teammate Tim Southee. The MI will hope Guptill can carry forward the recent form he showed with the Black Caps.

Gujarat Lions have no injury worries, but will be missing the services of left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja, who is scheduled to marry his fiance tomorrow. In a strong start to the tournament, GL have been really impressive, particularly their opener Aaron Finch, who has smacked back-to-back half-centuries. In their bowling, Bravo has bowled beautifully, and the surprise decision to keep Dale Steyn on the bench hasn’t backfired.
