IPL 2016: Revised schedule with new venues

After April 30, a total of six IPL matches in Pune, four in Mumbai and three in Nagpur were scheduled to be played.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced the revised schedule for the remaining matches of the ninth season of Indian Premier League (IPL). There has been a lot of talks about the matches scheduled to happen in Maharashtra. The state government, looking at the condition of the state, declared that no potable water will be provided to water the grounds and BCCI was asked by Bombay High Court to move their matches slated in the month of May to shift to some other venue. The state is home to three grounds that host IPL matches, including Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, Maharashtra Sports Association Stadium, Pune and Vidarbha Sports Association Stadium, Nagpur. Mumbai Indians (MI) earlier declared that they are set to make Visakhapatnam their home ground for their rest of the matches while Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) will also be having Vizag as their neutral venue. The IPL governing committee thanked Rajasthan Government for their efforts of getting the Sawai Mansingh Stadium ready in a state to host the matches.

Due to the changes in venue, timing of two matches have been changed. While he Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) match at Mohali will now be played at 4 PM IST, the MI vs Delhi Daredevils (DD) will be played in Vizag at 8 PM IST.
