Over 60 players have been released from their Indian Premier League (IPL) teams for IPL 2016, ahead of the IPL 9 auction to be held on February 6 and 7, 2016. None of the six existing IPL teams — Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been banned for two years — have retained all their players, with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) releasing the most players. Some huge names will be a part of the IPL 9 auction. The likes of Yuvraj Singh, Kevin Pietersen, Aaron Finch, Dale Steyn, Ishant Sharma, Aaron Finch, Alex Hales, and others will be up for auction for the tournament.

The six existing teams — Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Mumbai Indians, (MI), Delhi Daredevils (DD), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) — will have 351 players from which to choose, of which 230 are Indians and 301 are overseas players. A maximum of only 116 players can be chosen from this list.

Given below is the list of all players released by their respective teams ahead of IPL 2016:

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Nic Maddinson, Darren Sammy, Rilee Rossouw, Sean Abbott, Dinesh Karthik, Jalaj Saxena, Iqbal Abdullah, Manvinder Bisla, Sandeep Warrier, Shishir Bhavane, Subramaniam Badrinath, Vijay Zol, Ashok Dinda, Yogesh Takawale.

Kings XI Punjab: Virender Sehwag, George Bailey, Thisara Perera, Beuran Hendricks, Karanveer Singh, Parvinder Awana, Shivam Sharma, Yogesh Golwalkar.

Kolkata Knight Riders: Patrick Cummins, Ryan ten Doeschate, James Neesham, Azhar Mahmood, Johan Botha, KC Cariappa, Sumit Narwal, Veer Pratap Singh, Aditya Garhwal, Vaibhav Rawal.

Mumbai Indians: Aaron Finch, Aiden Blizzard, Alex Hales, Ben Hilfenhaus, Colin Munro, Josh Hazlewood, Aditya Tare, Abhimanyu Mithun, Pawan Suyal, Pragyan Ojha.

Delhi Daredevils: Yuvraj Singh, Manoj Tiwary, Angelo Mathews, Gurinder Sandhu, Marcus Stoinis, CM Gautam, Domnic Joseph Muthuswamy, Jaydev Unadkat, KK Jiyaz, Srikar Bharat.
