Following a few tough matches, Glenn Maxwell’s Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) are lagging behind at the sixth spot in the points table of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017. However, KXIP’s Indian all-rounder Akshar Patel believes that it is just a matter of time for the team to get combinations right in order to get back to the winning ways. Having won just a couple of games from the six games KXIP have played so far, Punjab have a tough task of winning upcoming matches and stand a chance to make it to the IPL 2017 play-offs. Nevertheless, Akshar is satisfied of his team’s performance so far, as they have had quite a few close encounters so far. “I think the team has performed well so far. It was just one game where we could not perform well. We are now just focusing on to getting back to the winning ways by getting the combination right. Right now I am just focusing on putting my best in the IPL and not thinking too much about the Champions Trophy. I know if I perform well in IPL, I will automatically get selected for the Champions Trophy,” Akshar said, as reported by ANI.

The Glenn Maxwell-led Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will take on Suresh Raina’s Gujarat Lions (GL), in the first match of Sunday’s double-header in IPL 2017. To be played at Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) Stadium, Rajkot, the match is crucial for both the teams as a victory in either camp is expected to take them to the No. 4 spot in the IPL 10 points table.
