Kolkata: Bollywood starlet Shraddha Kapoor is set to sizzle at the Eden Gardens as the city gears up to host its IPL opening ceremony before the start of the match between Kolkata Knights Riders (KKR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Thursday. The program will be a fusion of Bengal’s traditional chhau dance and Punjab’s bhangra. The 19-minute opening ceremony will take place before the match and commence with a performance by Shillong Chamber Choir. The chhau dancers will introduce the KKR team, while KXIP will make an entry with the bhangra dance troupe in the third segment of the opening ceremony. In the last segment, one-minute AV will display the two- time IPL champion team Kolkata’s journey from 2008 while Shraddha Kapoor’s six-minute performance will mark the conclusion of the opening ceremony. This is the first time that there are eight opening ceremonies taking place across eight venues. The opening ceremonies have taken place so far in Indore, Mumbai, Rajkot, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi and Pune so far. Actors like Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhoom Triveri, Sachin-Jigar, Disha Patani, Amy Jackson have performed earlier.
