Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) are fighting for their spot in the playoffs and are entering Match 32 of IPL 2017 on Friday against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Apart from Glenn Maxwell and Hashim Amla anchoring the innings for KXIP, Manan Vohra has also been a vital cog amongst the batsmen. Vohra’s knock of 95 came against SRH when both the sides faced each other for the first time in IPL 2017. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s fifer overshadowed Vohra’s possible match-winning knock. Vohra, however, feels maintaining consistency in T20 cricket is huge demand. He also credited Amla for his success. Speaking to reporters ahead of SRH clash on Friday, Vohra spoke about the consistency factor in T20 cricket, “I think it is a lot because we don’t have much time to focus. We don’t have much balls to get our eye in. So, it’s very important that we just keep backing ourselves in whatever situation we are in. It is very difficult to maintain consistency in this shorter format.” KXIP have to win most of the games if they stand any chance to lift the IPL trophy for the first time. KXIP will be playing four home matches.

Vohra hopes that KXIP can change their fortunes. However, Vohra was unimpressive against Gujarat Lions (GL) in the previous game, “Playing in home ground is always a good feeling, the crowd will be supporting us over here. The last game (against Hyderabad) was very close for us, this time around we will like to change the fortune and make it in our favour.”

Vohra also lauded Maxwell and Amla’s contribution in KXIP’s success. Vohra credited Amla for his success as well, “It has been a great experience, I have been very lucky to bat alongside him. He is a legend of the game. He has been telling me a lot and giving valuable tips.”
