Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 22 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. KXIP are currently in the fifth position with four points from five games, whereas MI are two places above them at third with eight points from five matches. If KXIP win this match, they will move to fourth spot in the table. However a win for MI will take them to No. 1 position in the table but a defeat will not change their place in the standings. So far, both the teams have played 18 matches against each other and both have won 9 each, which makes the contest more interesting.
Kings XI Punjab, in their last match, were guilty of giving the match away with wickets tumbling at regular intervals. Only Manan Vohra kept KXIP in hunt, making a 50-ball 95 which went in vain. It is highly important for Hashim Amla, Glenn Maxwell and David Miller to come good for them, with the tournament getting intense. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians rely heavily on Mitchell McClenaghan to provide early wickets and restrict the flow of runs in the death overs along with the ever-dependable Jasprit Bumrah. Add to the mix Krunal and Hardik and this makes for a potent attack.
