FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) vs Gujarat Lions (GL), IPL 10 Match 39
RPS crushed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with a convincing 61-run victory at their den. Lockie Ferguson, who played his second IPL game, was the star with the ball as he ended with figures of 2 for 7 that also included a maiden over. Ben Stokes continues to be out due to an injury and that should keep Ferguson in the playing XI. Tahir was also exceptional with figures of 3 for 18 against RCB. Tahir is also second amongst the leading wicket-takers with 13 wickets. For RPS their spinners have stood up in precarious situations. As for the batsmen, Rahul Tripathi, Ajinkya Rahane, Steven Smith, Manoj Tiwary and MS Dhoni’s on and off contributions have helped RPS.
GL, on the other hand, are struck with string of injuries as their bowling spearhead Andrew Tye is ruled out for the remainder of the tournament. A lot will be dependent on James Faulkner and Basil Thampi who were effective against MI. GL would also have to slightly shape their batting with the focus on Brendon McCullum, skipper Suresh Raina, Aaron Finch, Ishan Kishan and Dinesh Karthik. As for the overall records, GL lead with 3-0. RPS will hope to break the momentum and continue their winning streak.
