The Bangalore fans still in shock following Virat Kohli‘s Royal Challengers Bangalore‘s (RCB) horrific performance against former 2-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), in Match 27 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 at the historic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata, where they were bundled for a paltry 49. It was not just Bangalore’s, but also the lowest total in the history of the IPL. However, despite the disaster, Ben Cutting of the defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) feels that nothing can be taken away from Bangalore following poor performance in one match, as they are still on of the strong sides in the tournament. “49 all out – it happens time to time, RCB is still a very strong team,” said Cutting. Hyderabad, who play next against Bangalore, will now have to strategise their gameplay, as they once again get set to face the force of Kohli, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers, along with an entire wounded Bangalore squad, who will leave no stones unturned for a comeback in the tournament, which could be fatal for any side in the tournament now. “We do not have strategy against ABD, Kohli and Gayle. We will stick to our gameplan which is working for us – that is restricting opponents in first six overs,” he said, as reported by PTI.
Speaking on Hyderabad’s chances of making it to the play-offs, Cutting said, “We are not too far off the map, four wins in seven games is quite good. We are halfway through and seven more games left. If things improve, we will be in comfortable position.” Cutting also added that he won’t be disappointed if he is not picked for his side, which has plenty of other overseas play-makers, as he wants his side to come up with the best performance and win.
