IPL 2017: Virender Sehwag has been a great motivator, says Thangarasu Natarajan

Thangarasu Natarajan is also learning a new language improve his approach towards the game and learn more from his experiences in IPL 2017.

With Thangarasu Natarajan undergoing bowling action change and overcoming self doubts, it led to him being offered a lucrative deal for the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL), where he was roped in by Glenn Maxwell’s Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) during the IPL 2017 Auction. The young leg-arm pacer has said that he is enjoying his maiden IPL season so far. Meanwhile, he is also learning a new language improve his approach towards the game and learn more from his experiences in the IPL. Punjab roped him in for a whopping Rs 3 crore, following an impressive domestic season for Tamil Nadu in 2016-17. “Initially, I felt a little pressure as it was first season at this level. After the first match, I felt normal. The team members ensured that I was relaxed. I’m trying to learn Hindi now. I am doing what I know best. I need to give my best now, I can learn new things as I gain experience.” Natarajan said, as reported by PTI. Speaking on the manner in which he prepared for IPL 2017, and if there was a change in the manner, he said, “Not really. However, the foreign players have a different approach to games and I have been taking note of that.”

Speaking on him being compared to that of Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman, he said, “”There is a long way to go. Meanwhile, Maxwell asks me to stick to my strengths and is prepared to give fields I seek.” He also spoke on how Virender Sehwag acts as a great motivator. “Sehwag sir is a great motivator. He advised me to focus on my strengths,” he said.
