The unusual theme song of the 10th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) only adds to the hype of the mega tournament. The theme song goes: ‘Cricket Ke Deewano Ki Wah Re Wah .. Deewane.. Bal Banane Walo Ki Wah Re Wah.’ Mentioning of hairstyles, you cannot keep Yuvraj Singh out of the limelight. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) southpaw, sporting a new hairdo, slammed a 27-ball 62 to guide the defending champions to a win in the opening game of the tournament. His fastest IPL fifty earned him the Man-of-the-Match award, but Sanjay Manjrekar couldn’t restrain himself from asking about his new hairdo first before the fireworks. Come to think of it, isn’t IPL all about his? FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, IPL 2017
The candid Yuvraj, whose herculean all-round efforts helped India win the ICC World Cup six years back, admitted that every IPL he has got to bring something new and this time it is his hairstyle. Also, there is some novelty in his approach, which is bound to make the youngsters insecure. Yuvraj’s whirlwind knock helped SRH to 207, eventually sculpting a 35-run over against the previous edition’s finalist Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Fellow southpaw Shikhar Dhawan, too, played his part with an important 31-ball 40. When Manjrekar asked Yuvraj if he has outdone ‘Gabbar’ on the styling part, here is what the experienced left-hander had to say.
