We head to the Match No. 9 of the tournament with Mumbai Indians (MI) taking on Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both the teams enter the contest with no wins. Delhi have looked rusty so far in 2018 IPL. MI, on the other hand, lost two thrillers. The only advantage for them as they head into this contest is the head-to-head record over Delhi. MI have an upper hand with 11 wins from 20 matches. Delhi were undone by the assault of KL Rahul in the first game. The second game they were unfortunate as the rains got the better of them. As for the players, Gautam Gambhir scored an attractive fifty in the only innings he batted, while the others are yet to portray their skills. Colin Munro’s batting woes would have to be rectified if he needs to justify his selection in IPL. DD would also expect plenty of runs from Glenn Maxwell who is expected to play his 199th T20 game. As for the DD bowlers, Trent Boult led the way amongst the pacers against RR. Rahul Tewatia has also impressed and therefore DD had the confidence to drop Amit Mishra in their last game. If there has been any game changer for MI it has been Mayank Markande. His bowling has been the plus point for MI despite their losses. Hardik Pandya, too, is expected to be fit for the clash. If he does, then Ben Cutting might lose his spot who had tough time with the bat and ball against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). MI’s premier bowler Jasprit Bumrah is just a wicket away from 50 IPL wickets. MI’s top-order needs attention and it begins with their skipper Rohit Sharma. If he sets the tone at the top the remaining batsmen can follow suit. Squads:
