The 2018 IPL schedule is set to go for another change. Earlier, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) had rescheduled their games with the Chandigarh airport shut owing to maintenance purpose. Now, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) have decided to swap their home games due to the Karnataka elections on May 12, as mentioned on BCCI’s press release. RCB were to host DD on the same day. DD, on the other hand, were to host RCB on May 21.
Now, with the elections on in full swing, RCB and DD have swopped their home games. So, RCB will be hosting DD on May 21. Meanwhile, DD will be playing RCB at their den on May 12. The swapping was done for smooth conduct of both the games. There will also be no RCB home games during the voting period and when the results would be announced.
RCB will return to play at their home ground against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 17. As for the DD, their first home game has been pushed further by 2 days.
DD were to take on KXIP early in the tournament. However, with the changes in plan due to the Chandigarh Airport, KXIPs venues were swapped, with Mohali witnessing the first three games and Indore hosting the final four matches.
