After being associated with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for 10 years, Kingfisher has ended ties with the franchise. RCB have now cemented a deal with Dura as associate sponsor. The brand logo will appear at the back of RCB’s playing kit, as per the deal. However, RCB are seeking a title sponsor for IPL 2018 and are in talks with a couple of brands. RCB are ready to offer INR 20 crores to the title sponsor, 6 crores more than Gionee last year.

Speaking on the development of sponsorship and brands, an RCB official told Inside Sport: “This (INR 20 crores) is a very, very realistic price for an IPL team jersey. RCB offers to its sponsors much more than most of the other franchisee. Brands are realising that what it means to have their logo on say a Virat Kohli jersey. Overall too there is a certain appreciation in the IPL property values.”
