IPL 2019: Ajinkya Rahane fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over-rate

Ajinkya Rahane has been fined Rs 12 lakh for a slow over-rate during Rajasthan Royals’ match against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.

“As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Rahane was fined Rs 12 lakh,” said an IPL media release on Monday.

Dew was a factor in the second half of the night game, with Rahane and his bowlers repeatedly using towels to dry the ball.
