On February 22, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the schedule for the initial 21 matches of IPL 2024. With the tournament slated to commence on March 22, the opening clash will see defending champions Chennai Super Kings facing off against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

However, what caught the attention of many cricket enthusiasts was the unconventional decision by Delhi Capitals to host their first two home matches at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam instead of their traditional home ground, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This unexpected move has left fans scratching their heads, sparking curiosity about the reasoning behind the team’s departure from their usual home turf.

Notably, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi is primed to become the epicenter for the concluding phase of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. This leg of the tournament will include the crucial Eliminator match on March 15, followed by the highly anticipated Final on March 17. The WPL is set to kick off on Friday, February 23

With the close proximity between the conclusion of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) and the start of the IPL, the pitches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium will require adequate time for preparation. Once the two home matches in Vizag conclude, Delhi Capitals are scheduled to play the remainder of their matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
