Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) secured their second victory in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign as they defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 12 runs at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. MI have suffered a massive blow to their ranking in the points table, and things do not seem to be going well for MI as they have faced their third defeat of their campaign.

After the defeat, MI are currently at the 7th place in the points table, as they have just 2 points on the board with the Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.108. Only Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). are below them. If CSK manages to secure a victory against Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 5, Mumbai will go even more down in the table.

LSG were at the 7th place, but now have gone up to 6th place. They have total of 4 points, with a Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.048. The team is next to face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 8 at the Eden Gardens.

Coming to the match, MI had won the toss and opted to field first. LSG had a great start as Mitchell March and Aiden Markram made partnership of 76 runs for the first wicket. In the later phase of the inning, Markram kept the momentum, with Ayush Badoni clipping 30 quick runs. Lucknow posted a total of 203/8 in their 20 overs.
