On the contrary Ireland faced a complete whitewash in three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. An inexperienced Sri Lankan side dominated Ireland in the ODI series. Ireland had a bad run in ICC T20 World Cup 2016 where they were knocked out from Round 1 by Oman. Whereas Afghanistan made it to the Super 10 where they were able to beat World T20 Champions, West Indies.
