SWASHBUCKLING wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan had a top run in the ODI series vs West Indies. The southpaw scored half-centuries in all games and helped India win the series 2-1. Kishan joined the likes of MS Dhoni and Mohammed Azharuddin in the list of batters with fifties in all three games of an ODI series.
Ishan Kishan also had a hilarious interaction with commentator Aakash Chopra during a stumping referral. Aakash Chopra, who was commentating during the stumping, poked fun at Ishan and got a hilarious response in return.
“It’s very rare that you review the stumping and run-out dismissal. So far, I am seeing the feet on the ground. You can come from Ranchi, but your name is not MS Dhoni,” Aakash Chopra said on-air.
Ishan heard the comments on air and gave a brilliant reply. Ishan said. “Ha, fir thik hai. (Then it’s okay)” “How sweet Ishan. We love you,” Chopra replied.
We love you, Ishan 🤗 @JioCinema #WIvsIND #CricketTwitter pic.twitter.com/UnzHz1pth1

Meanwhile, with Rishabh Pant out of the World Cup, Kishan is the first contender to grab the wicketkeeper slot. KL Rahul is struggling with injury and it is not certain he will regain peak fitness before the mega event. He is also set to miss the upcoming Asia Cup.
Sanju Samson is another wicketkeeper in the lineup for the World Cup slot. Sanju is likely to make it to the squad as a backup keeper if Rahul does not recover, however, if Rahul is fit, it will be a toss up between Kishan and Samson. Given Kishan’s performance so far, he is likely to make a cut to the squad but all will depend on his performance in the Asia Cup.
