SNAKE sighting is rare in cricket but not in the Lanka Premier League. There have been multiple instances of snake interrupting a cricket match in the current edition, with the latest halt coming in the 15th match of the tournament between Jaffna Kings and B-Love Kandy.

The snake was seen crawling on the ground right near Kandy pacer Isuru Udana. The pacer suffered a momentary scare after he saw the reptile slithering near him. He moved away from the snake and crouched on the field. Minutes later, another sighting happened outside the boundary line.

The first snake sighting happened in the second match of the tournament between Galle Titans and Jaffna Kings.

Coming to the game, B-Love Kandy continued their winning run and registered their fourth consecutive victory in the Lanka Premier League. A magnificent 81-run knock by Mohammad Haris propelled Kandy to a huge score of 178-8.

Jaffna’s batting has been below par in the tournament and the match against Kandy was no exception. The top order once again collapsed, leaving Jaffna in a spot of bother. Shoaib Malik (55) tried to pull off an unlikely win along with Thisara Perera (37) but the team fell short by eight runs.
