The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated that Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul won’t be part of the second Test against England scheduled for February 2 in Vizag. Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury on Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad, while Rahul reported pain in his right quadriceps, as per the BCCI statement.
This is a setback for the Indian team, already missing Virat Kohli for the second Test. India faced a defeat in the first Test in Hyderabad by 28 runs on Sunday.
The BCCI Medical Team is keeping a close eye on Jadeja and Rahul’s recovery, mentioned the board. Consequently, Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar have been added to India’s squad.
For the India A squad’s third and final multi-day game against England Lions starting February 1 in Ahmedabad, Saransh Jain is named as a replacement for Washington Sundar.
